Hi. Love your site! I have a new make for your list. I live in Nova Scotia, and recently purchased a ’69 Glendette. It’s 12 feet long and in fairly good shape. I wonder if these are a Canadian make because I never see them mentioned anywhere. I’m enjoying working on it in my spare time and hope to take it out on a little trip soon. Cheers, Beth.

Beth,
Thank you for your comment and for a new camper to add to the list! Would love to see what it looks like sometime :)

Hi,

I did a little research online and this company is indeed, Canadian. They are based in Oakville, ONT. They have been around since the 50’s and unfortunately had a fire in the 70’s so little info is found about any models prior to the fire. I am contemplating purchasing a ’65 Glendale that’s for sale for $650. I really love the layout. Do you recommend this brand?

Oasis. The were produced in Donhal, CA. The is next to nothing on the Internet about the Oasis trailer. It is extremely frustrating. My husband and I were up until 2 last night painting the bottom part of the trailer only to wake up this morning to not being thrilled with the color. Ugh. I will bookmark your site and check back often.

Jaime- i also am having the same problem. I am trying to find a photo of the Oasis decal to have it reproduced. Wish i could find some old advertising materials or brochures!

We have a 1949 Aljoa…I don’t see it listed here. We also have 1962 Shasta Compact & a 1948 Westcraft Sequoia. The Shasta is finished, but we need to completely rebuild the other two…lots of work!

Reply

Rene May 27, 2012 at 6:24 pm

Hi Shelly,
Sorry for the very slow reply…. I just added your Aljoa to the list!!! Thanks so much for telling me about her. You guys have your hands full with those rebuilds! I bet it is so rewarding to see them finished…makes it all worth it :)

Hi,
I’m Linda from Oklahoma and I recently purchased a vintage 1964 Yellowstone. She’s 12ft long, turquoise and white with original stove & sink. Newer fridge has been put in. She’s been glamperized in pink, white & turquoise colors. Original screen door is perfect!

Hi I have a restoration prodject I just bought but I can’t seem to find ANY information on the 13′ 6″ Brentwood Explorer. I’m thinking it is in the late 50’s or early 60’s. Maybe you know about these campers? or can point me in the right direction. Thanks Jerry Marynik.

We just bought a cute little fixer upper, a 1968 Banner. I’ve had a hard time finding any info on them. Interior is mostly yellow birch wood. I’m not a huge fan of it, but it’s in good condition and my husband says I’d ruin it by painting over it. I love get campie, great ideas we can both agree on!

Anyone have any info on a Bendix travel trailer? We inherited a 1976, 24 foot in excellent condition except for outside weathering. Everything works perfectly. The roof leaked but has been repaired.

I have a 63? Zipper I have found very little info on this little 10 foot camper. It looks just like a Shasta Compact and a mini version of my Shasta 1963 Deluxe. I have read that they were produced by former Shasta employees. Mine is in really rough condition. I was not sure about the purchase but having not seen one before just had to rescue her. Anyone have any info/photos on Zippers?

Rene December 11, 2012 at 3:14 pm

I have a camper manufacturer to add. “Lil’ Beaver” was established in Fitzgerald, GA in 1960 or around that time and didn’t make a terrible amount of trailers and they didn’t last long. I’ve found one Census record on the company and that’s it. I have a 1965 Lil’ Beaver 10.5ft.

I have a Magnolia Travel Trailer co. camper. Its from Manila, Ark. It has a tag about its electrical from 1964 so i guess thats its year. Anyway Magnolia is not in your list, of course its not anywhere online so…
Do you know where i could get info on them? or maybe a confirmation that I dont have the only one left in existance.

Hi JB, I’d call the RV hall of fame and see if they have any advice.
Thank you for adding Magnolia to the list.

I see the Bendix listed but we still have been unable to find any significant information. We have a 24ft, 1976 in good condition and would love to hear from anyone one has one or has any information on the camper. We and our grown kids and grandkiks are using it as a seasonal vacation home Chincoteague, Va. Anybody have one?

I just bought a 71′ Contential ‘Mark’ is that considered vintage? Also do you know anything about them? Thanks

Reply

Rene March 4, 2013 at 3:49 am

I believe something needs to be about 20 years old to be considered vintage. Sorry, I don’t know anything about the your 71 trailer.

Hi! I just bought a 19′ exterior / 15′ interior vintage FROLIC travel trailer that also has 2 doors and it seems impossible to find any information on it. I’m not sure of the exact year but I’m guessing mid 1960’s to very early 1970’s. The kitchen & bathroom is located at the rear & pullout couch/bed in the front & table bed in middle. It doesn’t have a bunk bed. Here is some info I found: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/All_American_Group and http://www.trademarken.com/trademark/72244719?i=FROLIC-COACHMEN_INDUSTRIES_INC_MIDAS_INTERNATIONAL_CORPORATION there are other links on more info like this but still nothing specific about the camper itself nor any pictures of a Frolic with double doors. I guess as far as a color scheme …I think ill go with something Retro for the time period of our little pearl! She will be awesome! :-)

My Husband and I purchased a 1966 TrailMaster camper and are restoring it. I have not been able to find out much about it other than the title says 1966 TrailMaster. When I google it it shows up Gulfstream but I cannot find any pictures or information. Do you have any suggestions for me. I would really like to know who made it. Thank you.

We have a 71 ace, from arundel, maine. From what I’ve gathered, they are most famous for their embossed diamond pattern interior walls (think like the backsplash in an old diner) except the walls are painted- white on the ends and ceiling and robin egg blue for the sidewalls. My husband,(now 3 year old) daughter and I have been camping in it for three years now and I don’t know if well ever “upgrade” to a modern trailer.

Rene October 8, 2013 at 1:06 am

My family and my Uncle’s had campers made by “Lil Champ” in Central PA. We had an 11 foot trailer (I don’t know if that include the tongue). And my Uncle had a truck camper that fit on a standard 8 foot bed. We owned the trailer for many years. I think it was a 1964 model. I think it was disposed of around 2000.

Left Shasta and started their own company. Looks just like a Shasta Compact. Like a mini version of our 1963 Shasta Deluxe.
Same color blue. Same windows, hardware lights etc. if anyone has any info on Zippers please share

We just purchased a 1966 Ideal Travel Trailer. I have had little luck finding anything about these trailers. I believe from what I have been able to find they were manufactured in Caldwell, Idaho for a short time and then possibly moved to California. This is one that would be worth researching.

Thanks!
